What an honour! It's not often you get named Great British Entrepreneur of the Year so I am extremely grateful to everyone that voted for me.


For something that started off as a hobby in my living room in Brixton, we've come a very long way to build what's now a recognised brand and leader in speaker design. I'm extremely proud of BoomBocs and it fills me with great joy to know that people all over the world are enjoying something I created.

I knew I'd been nominated for the award but didn't think too much of it. When looking at the other contestants, it was clear the competition was strong so I assumed I had no chance and carried on working all hours on the development of BoomBocs STUDIO. Due to my ignorance, I didn't even go to the awards, which I now fully regret. At about 10PM, on the evening of the awards, I received a message from an old school friend who happened to be there. He said my ugly mug was up on the screen and I'd won. What a shock! I was sat at home on the sofa with my laptop doing spreadsheets.

It just goes to show that anything is possible and being determined does put you in good shape for success.

Once again, a huge thank you to everyone that voted for me. I adore you.
